Description
Name: Kwolenth
Gender: Male
Age: 104 moons
Fur Color: Kwolenth's fur is of the deepest black, sending even the bright white stones of the StoneSayer's Cave into shadow wherever he stands.
Fur Type: His fur is thick, able to withstand even extreme cold. However, it doesn't look very thick, giving the old wolf the impression of more muscles than he has.
Claws: Long, sharp, and deep black like his fur, Kwolenth's claws suit the rest of him well.
Eyes: His eyes are a bright yellow, shocking to all those who expected them, somehow, to be black. They seemingly reveal no emotions, but maybe to the StoneSayer-in-Training...
Tail: Kwolenth's tail is a bit longer than it should be, with way too much fur. He enjoys using it, sometimes, to move the stones and see if their readings are true.
Legs: His legs are long, still with liberal amounts of fur to make them look rather stronger than they are. There is no halt in the sea of deep black fur, only a continuation.
Ears: Kwolenth's ears are normal-sized, normal-shaped. They point upwards, supposedly alert, though only he knows that they are really tuning in to the stones.
Muzzle: His muzzle is short and rather blunt, giving away the fact that he once dwelled within Web of Flame territory.
Teeth: His teeth are fairly sharp, sharp enough to chew meat but not to pose a potential threat to those who seek his advice as the StoneSayer.
Smell: His sense of smell has developed surprisingly to accommodate his needs as StoneSayer. Any wolves approaching him for any reason will be scented right away.
Appetite: His appetite can be small or large. He bases his needs on how much food he is able to expect and so therefore possibly eat.
Hearing: Kwolenth possesses Stone-hearing, and as he practiced so long and hard to fine-tune it, he gradually dulled his normal hearing and perception of sound to a low mumble. Many wolves need to repeat themselves several times to get the point across.
Voice: As his perception of sound left him, so did that of the sound of his voice. A bit gruff and quiet, it somehow seems to echoe daringly off the white stone walls in a way that would never be possible in other places; instead, it would have been stifled.
Howl: Kwolenth's howl is little used and badly practiced. At best, it would simply become tangled in his throat and come out a croak. Never mind what happens at worst, since his only howl is the one that calls to the Stones, and any who are aware of it revel in its beauty.
Hunting: Like many other things, his hunting skill has deteriorated. He relies on visitors to bring him food; if not, he dines on the many edible herbs hidden deep within some secret passage or other, sweet fruit turning many a lonely meal into a fine banquet.
Protecting: Though one wouldn't guess it, the old wolf is fantastic at protecting anything, whether it be a secret or a wolf.
Patrolling: He cannot patrol at all, unless maneuvering his way through passages only he could find can be called "patrolling."
Fighting: Kwolenth cannot fight with strength; however, he can reason using words and tends to win most arguments...or battles.
Climbing: If the old wolf was faced with a climb, he would simply turn around and leave. Even Kwolenth knows his own limitations.
Jumping: He can jump barely at all, and when he does, the impact is usually painful and the jump does more harm than good.
Cubs: Kwolenth enjoys cubs and the usual ignorance that comes with them. Most of all, he enjoys watching them learn something--anything--that they thought could not happen or simply could not be, for the revelation in this new idea is some sort of entertainment for the old wolf who thinks that no ideas can shock him, no concept can be new.
With Wolves in Higher Rank: Kwolenth always maintains a certain amount of arrogance and an I'm-better-than-you-and-I-know-it attitude. Even if these wolves would totally outrank him had he been in a normal pack, he knows that they need him, need the StoneSayer, and enjoys his taste of leadership.
With Wolves in Lower Ranks: Again, he maintains an arrogant sort of manner, sometimes seeming to ignore them completely, though he always truly does listen to the words of all wolves.
With Kin (family members): Kwolenth has no family, but were he to discover some or mate he would love them fiercely and treat them as though they are all that matters in all the world.
With Loved Ones: His loved ones, which would usually only consist of the fondness that he has for any wolves that he trains in StoneSaying, are listened to as though they might be Centers of some far-off pack, and treats them with a gentle firmness and caring respect.
With Unknown Wolves: As the StoneSayer, Kwolenth has learned to deal with unknown wolves as though they were wolves he has known and simply acts as though he knows why they have come to him, as well.
With Friends: His friends' needs are always attended to before those of others, to the agitation of many. He treats with friends with respect and will willingly listen to anything that they have to say.
Overall: Kwolenth is a gruff but kind old wolf who trusts in many and none at all. He enjoys company and the gifts that come with being StoneSayer, as well as reading the Stones for other wolves.
In Free Time: Kwolenth spends his time either eating, sleeping, or muttering over the Stones, as though they are deep in argument with him--and, for all other wolves know, they may well be.
During Tasks: Kwolenth deals with his tasks promptly and with the casual confidence that comes with his old age, and perhaps a bit with his pride in his position. His tasks, since they consist mainly of reading the Stones, are no real burden to him.
Eating: Kwolenth will never share his food unless with a wolf that is the StoneSayer-in-Training, or if another wolf is starving or unduly hungry.
Sleeping: Kwolenth sleeps alone, as do all StoneSayers. His dreams are usually troubled, and deal with recent predictions or vague concepts that the Stones try to communicate to him.
Habits: His only habit is the annoying way that his eyes seem to twinkle at you during embarassing moments or after one of his particularly sarcastic comments.
