Oh, good. You want your wolf to live in the temperate forests. I'll tell you about the territory, then you can fill out this form to the WORD. Alright?
In the temperate forests, each change in temperature is very distinct, unlike in places like the Glacier. The difference between hot and cold moons is extremely obvious. These wolves tend to be short and stocky, more strong than fast. There are hardly ever any wolves without a pack, since they are fierce group animals. Most females tend to have cubs, instead of just the Center wolves. Cubs have a tough time of it if they're born too early, still in the grip of the cold moons, since they don't get their thick coats until they turn at least ten moons. Thick coats have their downsides--the large amounts of rain and snow here are enough to make a wolf feel like they'll never be dry.
The ground is always covered with something--if not leaves, then pine needles or frost of some kind. Growing plants are common, and these wolves have learned how to use a few of the more basic ones to their benefit. The thick undergrowth allows for a wide variety of prey, such as rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional deer, depending on which part of the temperate forests your wolf will live in.
Body and Basics
Name: (Duh. The name of the wolf. However, there are things to look at here. If you joined as a cub of existing wolves, you'll most likely take a reputational name--like Jieva, Anorien, etc. If you are beginning anew, you would usually use a token name--something like Hailstorm, Brisk Wind, FLUFFYKINS {ha-ha not really}.)
Gender: (Male or Female?)
Age: (In 'moons', which are basically months.)
Terrain: (Well, obviously, the temperate forests, but please specify the specific one (there are boards that say they are Temperate Forests). You can choose your pack, too, if there's more than one. You CANNOT start out without a pack!)
Fur Color: (The color and pattern of your wolf's fur. Most common in the temperate forests are wolves with dark brown or black fur, but most any color is acceptable.)
Fur Type: (Usually, fur is thick and protective for the harsh cold moons, but sheds easily during the hot moons. Explore this fur type--there's a lot you can do here.)
Claws: (Blunt? Sharp? Long? Short? Black? Translucent? That kind of thing. Normally black claws.)
Eyes: (Now, this has different aspects. There's color--green, brown, blue, etc., and there's--feeling. Are they kind? Angry? Sad? No emotion? Does the emotion shown in them change? Most common would be brown-colored.)
Tail: (YES, I included tail. So bite me. Is it long and whip-like? Short, fluffy? Cut in half {I am kidding...}? Usually shorter and fluffy.)
Legs: (Long? Short? Muscular? Weak? Is one crippled? Legs are usually kind of stocky and muscular.)
Ears: (Large? Small? Sticking up straight as they should or a "bum ear" that hangs down like some dogs' ears? Are warm, protective furs clustered along the edges for protection? Protective furs common.)
Muzzle: (For those ignorant ones, this means the long nose-thing on wolves. Usually shorter and blunter than other wolves.)
Teeth: (Sharp? Blunt? Better for chewing herbs? Yellow-stained or white? Usually sharp enough to catch prey.)
Senses and Abilities
Smell: (How good is their sense of smell? Normally used to many scents at once, and somewhat dulled by abundance of plant life and prey.)
Appetite: (How big is their appetite? Do they need a lot of prey each day, or can they go without much? Usually require at least one piece of prey each sun.)
Hearing: (How good can they hear? Are they deaf? Can they hear better than most wolves, or just average? I'll let you figure this one out...)
Voice: (Are they loud? Quiet? Mute? Is their voice raspy or musical? Does it carry for long distances, or only heard within the immediate area? Is it low and droning, or high and squeaky?)
Howl: (Similar to 'voice.' Use your imagination.)
Hunting: (Are they a great hunter? Not so good? Average? What is their favorite prey to hunt? Why? Prey most often found in this area is listed on the territory boards.)
Protecting: (Are they good at guarding something, such as an entrance to the Stonesayer's cave, or their pack's den-place? Are they bad at it and would prefer doing some other duty?)
Patrolling: (Not really used. If they were to patrol their borders, how good would they be? What would they do?)
Fighting: (Are they good at fighting? Strong? Agile? Quick or clever? More detailed fighting stats can be gained by training or other means. Normally, these wolves are more brawn than brains...)
Jumping: (Can they jump really high? Barely at all? Average length? Better at distance or height?)
Cubs: (Are they good with cubs? A good mother or father? Overprotective? Too unconcerned? Do they just plain not like cubs? Do they love them? Want cubs of their own?)
Personality, Habits, and Actions
With Wolves in Higher Rank: (Are they extra-polite? Maybe they don't care! Do they obey orders quickly? Argue their point first? Are they friendly? Do they treat them like everyone else? Show proper respect according to customs?)
With Wolves in Lower Ranks: (Do they treat them like dirt? Do they act friendly? Act normally? Give lots of orders? Act strict, but not TOO strict? Spend lots of time with them, and if so, when? Expect more formal ritual/custom response than they receive? Anger quickly at signs of disrespect?)
With Kin (family members): (Do they go easy on them? Act extra nice? Treat them extra harsh? Treat them like everyone else? Still expect proper respect/give proper respect?)
With Loved Ones: (Do they refrain from giving them hard or dangerous tasks or putting them in danger? Spend lots of time them, and if so, when? Or how? Act normal only among other wolves? Sneak off with them?)
With Unknown Wolves: (Attack immediately, no questions asked? Ask what they're doing? Treat them kindly? Let your Center wolf decide? Use proper rituals according to custom?)
With Friends: (Act normally? Spend lots of time with them, and if so, when? Want proper respect/give proper respect for rank?)
Overall: (Their basic personality when interacting with other wolves. Mostly kind? Unhappy? Angry? Fierce? Waaay too respectful and uneasy?)
In Free Time: (What do they do when they don't have a special task? Bask in the sun? Tell stories? Spend time with family? Dream like the lazy wolf-thing that they are?)
During Tasks: (Are they diligent, always completing their job quickly and efficiently? Do they slack off? Do a good enough job? Have others help them? Force others to help them? )
Eating: (Do they keep other wolves from getting near? Share prey with friends? Choose only their favorite type? Share with their pack as is only proper?)
Sleeping: (Do they twitch in their sleep? Howl? Move? Share dreams with the StoneSayer {don't even think about it; permission from ME only}? Dream normally? Forget most dreams, except for important ones? Do they curl up with their family, or sleep with their friends?)
Habits: (Annoying or common little things they do. Maybe they twitch their paw when thinking, or scratch behind their ears when nervous.)
Other
Other: (Optional. Anything else about your wolf that didn't fit into the categories above. ANYTHING. But not inappropriate!)
Wow. Enjoy this form. I hope new members don't get scared off...
