The wolves use different measurements than humans do. Below I've tried to make a guide for you.
Time
The passage of time is no different, but the words used are.
Sun--the time it takes for the sun to rise, set, and rise again. Basically one day.
Moon--the time it takes for the moon to go from any of its phases and back again, such as full moon to full moon. About one month, exactly 29.5 days.
Heartbeat--one second. More than one is a couple of seconds.
Moment--could mean, and usually does, minute, but could also refer to seconds.
Quarterrise--when the sun is one-quarter of the way up in the sky, or from its normal rising height, from rising,.
Centerset--when the sun is in the center of the sky, or at its highest point.
Quarterset--when the sun is one-quarter of the way up in the sky and is going to set next.
Nearrise--when the moon is one-quarter of the way up in the sky, or from its normal rising height, from rising.
Mooncenter--when the moon is in the center of the sky, or at its highest point.
Soonset--when the moon is one-quarter of the way up in the sky, or from its normal rising height, and is next going to set.
Directions
Instead of north, south, east, and west.
Sunrisewards--east, or the direction from which the sun rises.
Sunsetwards--west, or the direction from which the sun sets.
Strongwards--south, or when the sunrise is to your left
Frailwards--north, or when the sunrise is to your right
To combine them, like northest, you would:
Frailset--between frailwards and sunsetwards, northwest
Strongrise--between strongwards and sunrisewards, southeast
Get it? Good.
Length
Not complicated, really.
Crep--one-half the length of a paw OR one inch (2.5 cm).
Paw--two creps OR two inches (5 cm).
Tail--seven paws OR 14 inches (35 cm)
Length--two and a half tails OR 17.5 inches (43.75 cm)
Jour--one hundred lengths OR 145.83 feet (43.75 meters)
Hope that helped to understand some of the...eccentricities of StoneSayer's measurements!
